Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenAt the age of 27, he enrolled at the National Theatre School of Denmark where he graduated in 1995. Alongside his role as the lead actor of The Killing and lead actor, he was also a part of two other critically highly acclaimed Danish drama series: Those Who Kill, and Borgen III. He also was in the episodes of BBC drama Sherlock as Charles Augustus Magnussen (blackmailer). In the American television series House of Cards, his character was the President of Russia. He received an International Emmy Award for 2018 for his role on the Danish TV drama Herrens Veje. It was broadcast in the UK in 2019 under the title Ride Upon the Storm. Mikkelsen is fluent in English, Swedish, German, and Danish in addition to his native language. He has also picked up different accents. Mikkelsen stated that he and his brother learned English initially through listening to Monty Python recordings and watching comedy sketches.
